Expanding Horizons: East Coast Traffic Control Launches on the Gold Coast and Northern NSW

ECTC traffic controllers launching new services on the Gold Coast and Northern NSW

We’ve got exciting news from the team at East Coast Traffic Control (ECTC) — we’re officially expanding our operations to the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales!

This marks a huge milestone for our business as we continue to grow and bring our high-quality traffic control services to even more communities across the East Coast. Whether it’s managing road safety, supporting infrastructure projects, or helping local events run smoothly, we’re now equipped and ready to deliver the same dependable ECTC service across this dynamic region.

Why the Gold Coast and Northern NSW?

The Gold Coast and Northern NSW are home to some of the fastest-growing areas in the country. From high-density urban developments and transport upgrades to regional council projects and tourism-driven events, the demand for professional traffic management in this region continues to rise.

Our presence here will ensure that local clients benefit from our deep industry knowledge, reliable 24/7 support model, and genuine commitment to safety and service. It also means we’re contributing directly to the region’s development and creating local jobs in the process.

Welcoming Richard Hunt as Area Manager

We’re thrilled to announce that Richard Hunt has joined ECTC as our new Area Manager for the Gold Coast and Northern NSW.

Richard brings more than 15 years of hands-on experience in the traffic management industry — from working as a traffic controller himself to taking on leadership roles right up to CEO. He knows every side of the job and is highly regarded for his leadership, integrity, and passion for growing strong, safe teams.

He shares our commitment to building a culture of professionalism, safety, and respect — and we know he’ll play a major role in making our newest region a success.

What This Means for Clients and Councils

With this expansion, local councils, contractors, utilities, and event organisers now have a trusted new option for traffic management. Our clients in the Gold Coast and Northern NSW will benefit from:

  • Local leadership and on-the-ground knowledge

  • A strong culture of safety and compliance

  • Certified, experienced traffic teams

  • Rapid mobilisation for urgent and short-term jobs

  • Access to our wider East Coast network and resources

Whether it’s maintaining safe work zones, facilitating major upgrades, or supporting events like the Gold Coast Marathon or regional ANZAC Day parades, we’re here to support every step of the way.

Committed to Community and Careers

As with all our depots, we’re committed to employing and training locals. We’re on the lookout for skilled and passionate traffic controllers, TMI-certified professionals, and new recruits who want to grow their careers in the traffic management industry.

If you’re based in the Gold Coast, Tweed, Ballina, Byron, or anywhere across Northern NSW and have a passion for safety and teamwork, we’d love to hear from you.

Our Footprint Continues to Grow

This new region joins our expanding list of depot locations across Queensland and NSW — from Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Hervey Bay, and the Sunshine Coast, right down to Young in southern NSW.

Every new location represents our commitment to being the trusted name in traffic management — delivering safe, responsive, and tailored services where and when they’re needed most.

Looking Ahead

As we establish ourselves in the Gold Coast and Northern NSW, our focus will remain on building strong relationships, delivering value to our clients, and supporting the local economy through training and employment.

We’re excited about this next chapter — and we’re just getting started.
