A traffic guidance scheme (TGS) is a smaller document than a traffic management plan. Works conducted on Council assets usually only require a TGS. It is used for isolated smaller-scale works and includes site information, a plan of how the traffic control devices will be implemented and shows how the existing road and footpath conditions will change during that short-term project. It will include public transport and emergency vehicle allowances, traffic controller instructions and signage requirements. A Traffic Plan is required before any works can commence.
