East Coast Traffic Control is proud to announce the opening of our newest depot in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales. Led by local Area Manager Darin Downton, the new site reflects our commitment to building regional teams where the work is — and right now, we’re hiring.
We’re currently looking for qualified traffic controllers across Grafton, Armidale, Inverell, Kempsey and Coffs Harbour. If you’re already accredited and looking for consistent work close to home, we want to hear from you.
Work locally with a team that backs locals
With road upgrades, civil projects, and public events increasing across northern NSW, the need for reliable traffic control is only growing. Our new depot allows us to support these projects with crews who live in the region and understand the roads, weather and community dynamics.

Already qualified? Let’s chat
If you’ve already completed your White Card and hold current traffic controller accreditation (such as TC1), we’d love to hear from you. While we don’t deliver training, we can point new applicants in the right direction if you’re just starting out.
We’re especially looking for people with a positive attitude, strong safety awareness and a willingness to show up and represent their community well.
Built for regional work
This depot isn’t just an operational move. It’s a long-term investment in local capability. Hiring locally allows us to respond faster, support councils more effectively, and keep costs down for our clients.
It also gives local workers a reliable, professional opportunity to stay and work in their own community.
Meet your Area Manager: Darin Downton
Darin brings extensive experience in traffic operations and local deployment. He’s based in the region, knows the work, and is already coordinating shifts for upcoming projects. Whether you’re in Grafton, Kempsey or further inland, Darin’s your go-to for local support, onboarding and rostering.
